El Grito Boricua isn’t a coffee brand: it’s a movement of farmers, artists, and coffee lovers with a vision for a sustainable, just and independent future for Puerto Rico.
By connecting a network of small farmers on the island directly with discerning cafeteros in the diaspora, El Grito Boricua is building a solidarity economy around values of ecological stewardship, cooperation, and food sovereignty.
As a volunteer-run non-profit, El Grito Boricua reinvests every dollar earned through the sale of this coffee into El Guajón Agroecological Reserve. Once completed, this expansive agro-ecology project will be a working cooperative farm, agro-educational center, and thriving community hub spread across 29 acres in Puerto Rico’s eastern mountains.

After years of planning, through hurricanes and pandemics, El Grito Boricua is preparing for our first cosecha – but we need your support to make it happen!
Our farmers need a hand with this fall’s harvest, and your donations will help fund solidarity brigades to get the coffee beans off the plants and into your kitchen.
Donations of $50 or more will receive a voucher for 1 lb of whole bean coffee from the first shipment of Café El Grito Boricua, slated for October 2023.
